Red Bridge

Series · 06 frames

The Pont Rouge at the hour when the city turns its own colours on. A tram crossing, the valley below, the plateau on both sides.

Aerial photographs of the Pont Rouge — Luxembourg City's tram viaduct, designed by Jim Clemes Architects and opened in 2017. The bridge carries the Luxtram network over the Hollerich valley on a single red steel arch, connecting the Kirchberg plateau to the Bonnevoie area. Photographed in July 2026 at blue hour and sunset, at 80–100 metres altitude with a DJI Mini 5 Pro.

The Pont Rouge is one of the few Luxembourg landmarks where the aerial vantage is genuinely competitive with ground-level photography. The bridge deck sits forty metres above the valley floor; a drone at bridge height or above can show the relationship between the arch, the tram, the Kirchberg towers behind, and the Grund quarter below — a vertical cross-section of the city that no ground photograph can make.
