Summer Fields

Series · 07 frames

A storm passed, left a rainbow, and the golden hour came. The fields after harvest, read from directly above.

Aerial photographs from the fields east of Marienthal in rural Luxembourg — July 2026, shot with a DJI Mini 5 Pro at 60–100 metres altitude. The flight opened with a double rainbow over storm clouds and ended in golden hour, when harvested fields turn their own kind of gold.

The geometry of agriculture is most visible from above after the harvest, when the full pattern of fields, roads, and drainage channels is exposed — no crop to obscure the lines. The road curves, the tractor tracks, the difference in colour between stubble, clover, and winter planting. A country that looks flat from the road reveals considerable variety from altitude.
