City Lights
Series · 02 frames
The hour before dark, when the city shows its shape most clearly — where it thins, where it ends, what it leaves behind.
Aerial photographs of Luxembourg City at golden hour — the southern suburbs in the last light of the day. Shot in June 2026 at 80–90 metres altitude with a DJI Mini 5 Pro over the Gasperich and Kockelscheuer areas.
Golden hour from altitude does something particular to a city: it equalises. The steel towers and the farmhouse rooftops and the retention lake all catch the same orange light. The distinctions between the dense urban core and the thin suburban edge — so legible from street level — flatten into a single warm surface. What you notice instead is shape: where the buildings cluster, where they thin, where the last street runs out and a field begins.
